Even with all upgrades bought, blackjack gave me negative. The one in this image is only -800 or so, but that's because I kept it a $1 so I wouldn't lose much. This is also after I let the game run over night.

Other than the slow down around blackjack, it's really good.
Were you using the "Spy" strategy? In my tests it brings the win percentage up to 45%, but the increased return comes from the blackjack payouts, especially with the 2-to-1 blackjack upgrade.
The first time I lost, I was using the spy strategy. On the second time I played (the time I won), I don't remember. I think I was mixing it around to see if anything would work.
Im really enjoying this take on a clicker game, but I feel like i've hit a standstill with progress. Im at the part of the game where im working towards buying "Rock, Paper, Scissors". I've bought so many upgrades for Poker and Blackjack but im still getting negative return when using their auto-modes. Why should I continue to upgrade these when I could be focusing solely on only upgrading Heads & Tails and War to get a steady progression?
I'll confirm this. I haven't beaten the game yet, but I have all of the blackjack upgrades purchased up to and including the last extra deck removal and the spy (I forget which one came first). But I'm down to one deck, spying on the dealer, counting cards, and have one or two (I forget) winnings upgrades...
Win rate is sitting at 43%. Tracking 100 games manually I see a win rate of around 46%, so 43% overall win rate seems feasible. Blackjack returns - almost stable, but that "almost" is definitely a loss. I very briefly made money off it at some point, and it quickly went back down into the negatives and just keeps on going
I'll keep digging into this. Over a full game the blackjack has returned positive for a test I just ran; that's with 1 deck and the "Spy" strategy, but the Win rate is only 45%.
Fun, and I appreciate how basic and straightforward it is for a grindy-clicky-game.
Not sure I understand how the War mechanics work, I see the comments about the card removals not working quite right, but the triple tie doesn't seem to pay out correctly?
The later upgrades to remove certain cards from the War deck don't seem to work. Or maybe I'm misunderstanding them, but I'm still drawing 3s and 4s after removing them from the deck. The 2s seem to have been removed successfully, though.
Honestly, I've removed the 2s and have a 5% ace draw, and my War win is at 17%. I don't even know what's going on there; I'm just letting my coin flips finance the losses.
I ended up removing the war triple-tie options and related upgrades, the mechanic was implemented incorrectly as well as being an inefficient strategy. I may re-add the mechanic when there is a better use for it.
For poker, without any upgrades, "hi-pair" wins your wagered money back, while "hi-card" and "lo-pair" count as a loss. I mainly go by the rules outlined here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Video_poker. In a later version I will outline some of these rules in an info section.
When you input a negative value into any input field and bet on losing (so to speak) e.g. betting -10000 on a coinflip on tails (35% tails) will make you a millionaire in a matter of minutes :D I am guessing this isn't intended so I thought I would tell you ;)

Pretty decent game. I couldn't figure out how to get blackjack to work for me though.

nit:
"Ace draw: 2%"? Or "Extar Ace draw: 2%"?
100% / 13 should already be much more than 2%
yes, you are correct, it is an additional 2% draw chance
are you going to update this
a 0.5.0 update is coming but most likely not any time soon
ok well i look forward to it as i thought this was a really good idle game

I. Do. Not. Have. A. Gambling. Problem.
Sick game, dude.
new update seems to have broken war the win % is not as good and i end up bleeding money
i play a lot of poker, but i have no idea how this poker works. otherwise great spin on a classic genre
I went by 5-card video poker rules for this game; in those the player is able to discard all cards if they like.
I logged into itch to upload a new build, saw a new zzox project, clicked it out of curiosity, and accidentally played for like 30 minutes lol

got a small strait in poker and lost.
do you remember the numbers in the straight? Was it A2345 by chance?
i wish i could save my game!
me too.
are there any upgrades for rock paper sisors
no there aren't
i think the auto black jack is broken
even with spy and 1 deck i still loose most of the time
let me check on that. is your return $ increasing? sometimes some of the upgrades can make up for the percentage lost
nope i reached the current end with out every making a profit off of black jack
I'll confirm this. I haven't beaten the game yet, but I have all of the blackjack upgrades purchased up to and including the last extra deck removal and the spy (I forget which one came first). i have just spent 8 hours straight playing this game. bravo!
this is the type of game that inspires you to make games yourself.
thank you! ๐
Not sure if you're open to suggestions, but a fun upgrade for Rock Paper Scissors might be to do a "Monty Hall Problem" type arrangement
I'm open to any and all suggestions, that would be an interesting idea for a very-late-game upgrade
Fun, and I appreciate how basic and straightforward it is for a grindy-clicky-game.

The "War Ties" set of upgrades that include removing items from the deck need a major rework, will get to that in a later version.
I ended up removing the war triple-tie options and related upgrades, the mechanic was implemented incorrectly as well as being an inefficient strategy. I may re-add the mechanic when there is a better use for it.
the fact you can get a game over is dumb
An info section would be helpful as im not very familiar with some of the games. For example, what counts as a win in the poker game?

Thanks for the heads up! Still working out some of these issues
should be fixed now
needs more upgrades as i ran out quickly
